Located in tax-free southern New Hampshire, The Maple Guys is a family-owned business that has been producing maple syrup and selling the related equipment and supplies since 1999. What started as a hobby on a homemade rig has grown to a 1000+ tap operation with two locations in Lyndeborough, NH. The Maple Guys enjoy sharing their enthusiasm for a New England tradition with visitors to their sugarhouse and with the school groups they host annually.
In addition to their maple syrup operations, The Maple Guys were previously a distributor of Algier Evaporator Co., Inc. evaporators and related equipment until that company's closure in August 2005. The Maple Guys are now an exclusive distributor for Lapierre USA, Inc. (a division of Lapierre/Waterloo/Small) with a newly opened storefront at 327 Forest Road (Route 31) in Wilton, NH. A wide variety of maple supplies is available, a portion of which is available for purchase online.
Always looking for ways to improve their own sugaring operations, The Maple Guys released their own innovative tool, the Acc-u-cup, to maple producers everywhere. The Acc-u-cup has proven to be an effective tool for producers. In early 2006, The Maple Guys introduced another new piece of equipment to the market, the Hands-Free Bottling System. The Sensafill Automatic Filling System and Maple Jet are two other products added to The Maple Guys' line.
The Maple Guys are proud members of the New Hampshire Maple Producers Association and the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests. At the January 2005 annual meeting of the NH Maple Producers Association, The Maple Guys were awarded the Carlisle trophy for "Best Maple Syrup in New Hampshire," receiving a perfect score for flavor, clarity and density. As a result of having won this prestigious award, The Maple Guys were featured on WMUR's New Hampshire Chronicle the week of April 11, 2005.
In January 2007, The Maple Guys were once again awarded the Carlisle Trophy for "Best Maple Syrup in New Hampshire" at the NH Maple Producers Association Annual Meeting.
In 2009, The Maple Guys were awarded a Conservation Innovation Grant from the USDA NCRS and purchased a new high-efficiency gasification evaporator - the Lapierre Hurricane Force 5. While mother nature did not allow for a very productive season in 2010, the evaporator did perform well, dramatically decreasing the wood usage and polluting emissions.
In 2012, The Maple Guys purchased a sugar orchard at 311 Cram Hill Road, Lyndeborough, where they now produce all of their maple syrup. The new operation is featured in a PBS show for children, "Twice as Good." The episode can be viewed by visiting their website at twiceasgoodshow.com.
Governor Maggie Hassan visited The Maple Guys' for the annual New Hampshire Maple Producers' tree tapping ceremony in March 2014.
In February 2016, The Maple Guys partnered with Lapierre USA to form the new "Maple Guys Lapierre New England" store on Route 31 (327 Forest Road) in Wilton, NH. Their 1500 square foot showroom is fully stocked with maple equipment and supplies and offers regular open hours year-round.
